VIETRAVEL AIRLINES LAUNCHES FIRST FLIGHT CONNECTING TAIPEI (TPE) – PHU QUOC (PQC)

Phu Quoc, August 1st, 2024 – Vietravel Airlines successfully launched its first flight connecting Taipei (Taiwan) and Phu Quoc (Vietnam), marking a significant milestone in expanding its international flight network to major outbound markets of Vietnam in 2024.

Seizing the Opportunity in the Recovering Aviation and Tourism Markets

According to the General Statistics Office, the tourism market welcomed over 8.8 million international visitors in the first six months of 2024, a 58.4% increase compared to the same period last year, and 4.1% higher than the same period in 2019. South Korea remains Vietnam's largest source market with 2.2 million visitors, followed by China with 1.8 million, and Taiwan in third place with 630,000 visitors.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam reports that, according to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the global aviation market is expected to fully recover by the end of 2024. The Asia-Pacific region, the slowest to recover, is projected to break even and achieve a profit of approximately $1.1 billion in 2024. The Vietnamese aviation market is also expected to follow this regional recovery trend and fully recover by the end of 2024.

Efforts to Expand the Market in 2024

Taiwan is one of Vietravel Airlines's target markets in 2024. The airline has thoroughly prepared for this endeavor, including working with Taiwanese aviation authorities for operational approval and successfully recruiting the fourth class of "Golden Wing Ambassadors."
