Hanoi, August 4, 2025 – At Noi Bai International Airport, Vietravel Airlines officially welcomed its own Airbus A320 aircraft, marking the next step in its journey to enhance operational capacity and pursue sustainable development, a path the airline is steadfastly following.

Accelerating internal strength: From aircraft ownership to operational mastery

The new Airbus A320, registration number VN-A136, featuring a 182-seat configuration, will enter service this August after completing technical maintenance. This follows the airline's reception of its first owned Airbus A321 in late June 2025, which opened a new chapter in its "from leasing to ownership" strategy, supported by the partnership with strategic shareholder T&T Group.

The Airbus A321/A320 family is a narrow-body aircraft series widely operated in the Asia-Pacific region, known for its high operational efficiency and fuel savings, making it suitable for both trunk domestic routes and short-to-medium-haul international routes. Choosing this aircraft family allows the airline to easily access existing maintenance infrastructure, simplifies the supply of spare parts, and enables effective utilization of the abundant pool of pilots and technical engineers in the region.

The continued addition of owned aircraft to its operating fleet is a strategic move that clearly demonstrates Vietravel Airlines' maturity and determination to break through in a highly competitive aviation industry that demands significant investment. 

With its own fleet gradually taking shape, the airline aims to enhance operational efficiency, standardize services, and build a solid foundation for network expansion, progressively realizing its vision of becoming a leading green, professional, modern, and sustainable airline in the region.

According to Mr. Do Vinh Quang, Chairman of the BOD of Vietravel Airlines, developing an owned fleet not only helps the airline master its operations and services but also demonstrates a strong commitment to its long-term direction, always standing with customers and the market. This is also how Vietravel Airlines affirms its position as a resilient private airline, capable of standing firm and reaching further in the region, while providing customers with a complete flight experience: from comfort and service to emotion.

“We are very clear that developing an owned fleet is not just an operational matter, but also a way to affirm our internal capabilities, long-term commitment, and ability to control service quality. This is the foundation for a sustainable development strategy that is competitive at a regional level,” shared Mr. Do Vinh Quang.

Connecting to the T&T Ecosystem and Vietravel Airlines' value chain mastery strategy

Vietravel Airlines is currently finalizing procedures to receive its third owned aircraft. In parallel, the airline is actively pursuing negotiations with aircraft manufacturers and international airlines to realize its plans for fleet and route network expansion. The goal is to expand the fleet to 30–50 aircraft by 2030, with a network covering Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, and the Middle East.

Previously, to achieve its growth objectives, Vietravel Airlines approved a plan to increase its charter capital to VND 2,600 billion. This financial resource aims to meet the demands of a robust expansion of its fleet and operational scale. It will also be invested synchronously in a modern operational technology system, technical maintenance facilities, and, crucially, the training of high-quality human resources—a key factor in the airline's sustainable development strategy.

Furthermore, the capital increase aims to ensure strong solvency, maintain healthy financial indicators, and continuously enhance credibility with strategic partners, suppliers, and domestic and international credit institutions.

Beyond passenger transport, Vietravel Airlines is also planning to expand into the air cargo sector. This is a field with great potential, especially as regional supply chains and logistics are growing strongly post-pandemic. In addition, T&T Group and Vietravel Airlines plan to develop ancillary aviation services such as ground services, warehousing, handling, and technical and industrial aviation services to enhance competitiveness and contribute to the complete aviation ecosystem being developed by T&T Group.

Notably, the development of Vietravel Airlines' owned fleet is part of a larger picture: the aviation-logistics-infrastructure ecosystem strategy being implemented by T&T Group. As a strategic shareholder, T&T Group not only provides financial support but also guides Vietravel Airlines to become a critical link in its ecosystem, which includes airports, aviation industry-logistics-airport city complexes, and transport and logistics infrastructure. This not only helps the airline gradually master its operational chain—from operations and ground services to engineering, maintenance, and repair—but also creates a long-term competitive advantage.

Specifically, by connecting with key projects such as Quang Tri Airport, the aviation industry-logistics-airport city complex in Quang Tri, Quang Ninh Port, Vietnam SuperPort in Vinh Phuc, and the Bao Loc–Lien Khuong Expressway, Vietravel Airlines not only inherits infrastructural advantages but also plays a central role in an integrated value chain, from passenger transport to air logistics.
