HANOI, June 28 – At Noi Bai International Airport, Vietravel Airlines officially welcomed its first wholly-owned Airbus A321 aircraft. This milestone marks a strategic advancement in the airline's journey to develop its own fleet, affirming the capabilities and new stature of this ambitious carrier.
This event holds significant importance for Vietravel Airlines' restructuring and expansion plans since T&T Group became its strategic shareholder. The official ownership of this aircraft ushers in a new phase of proactive, systematic, and sustainable development, aiming to establish Vietravel Airlines as a leading green, professional, modern, and sustainable airline in Southeast Asia..
Self-Sufficiency – A foundation for a new development phase
Vietravel Airlines' new Airbus A321, bearing tail number VN-A129, has a capacity of 228 seats and is expected to commence operations in early July 2025. This narrow-body aircraft is globally favored for its high operational efficiency and fuel economy, making it suitable for both domestic trunk routes and short-to-medium-haul international flights.

In July, Vietravel Airlines will acquire two additional Airbus A320 aircraft, completing its fleet enhancement plan with modern, flexible, and efficient aircraft types. The airline will increase flight frequencies connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Quy Nhon, and other regional international destinations, serving both the strongly recovering tourism and business travel demands.
According to Mr. Do Vinh Quang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietravel Airlines, the acquisition of the Airbus A321 is not only a crucial step towards realizing the strategy of developing a modern fleet but also an affirmation of Vietravel Airlines' financial strength and operational capabilities. It further demonstrates the airline's strong commitment to sustainable development and building a distinctive airline that earns customer trust and market recognition.

Mr. Do Vinh Quang, Chairman of Vietravel Airlines, speaks on the airline's first privately owned aircraft.
"The ownership of the first Airbus A321 is not only significant for Vietravel Airlines but also reflects the aspiration of Vietnam's private aviation sector to rise – a sector that is gradually asserting its role in driving growth in the national economy," shared Mr. Do Vinh Quang.
At the welcoming event for Vietravel Airlines' new aircraft, Mr. Ho Minh Tan, Deputy Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, affirmed that today's acquisition of the first Airbus A321 owned by the airline actualizes T&T Group's commitment to the growth of Vietravel Airlines. The addition of this owned aircraft to their fleet, which is synchronized with other aircraft currently in operation, will provide Vietravel Airlines greater autonomy in its operational activities and offer significant momentum for the airline's strategic development in subsequent phases.
"I believe that with the companionship and support of the strategic shareholder – T&T Group – Vietravel Airlines will achieve impressive growth, deliver practical value and benefits to customers, and contribute to the overall development of Vietnam's aviation industry," emphasized Mr. Ho Minh Tan.

Vietravel Airlines is also actively negotiating with major aircraft manufacturers and airlines worldwide to establish strategic and comprehensive collaborations in the aviation sector, aiming to enhance the airline's technological capabilities, operational standards, and international influence.
Notably, to achieve its growth objectives, Vietravel Airlines recently approved an increase in its charter capital to VND 2,600 billion. This strategic decision aims to strengthen financial capacity to meet the requirements for substantial fleet expansion and operational scale in the coming period. It also involves comprehensive investment in modern technical infrastructure, advanced technology systems, and especially high-quality human resource training, ensuring sustainable and efficient development. Furthermore, the capital increase aims to ensure robust solvency, maintain healthy financial indicators, and continuously enhance reputation with strategic partners, suppliers, and domestic and international credit institutions.
Integration into the T&T Group Ecosystem
In the coming period, Vietravel Airlines will continue to leverage its strengths in aviation tourism – the foundation that has established the airline's unique position in the market. Particularly, with the strategic partnership of T&T Group, Vietravel Airlines is entering a new phase of systematically planned, long-term development, with the orientation of becoming one of the leading green, professional, modern, and sustainable airlines in the region.

Accordingly, Vietravel Airlines will continue to boost passenger transportation while expanding into air cargo services to meet the growing demands of the regional supply chain and logistics. T&T Group and Vietravel Airlines are planning to participate in the development of aviation auxiliary services such as ground services, warehousing, loading and unloading, technical services, and the aviation industry – a high value-added sector – to increase competitiveness and contribute to completing the aviation ecosystem based on the group model that T&T Group is developing.
Vietravel Airlines is also integrated to become a crucial link in the chain of infrastructure, logistics, and aviation projects that T&T Group has been and is implementing. Vietravel Airlines, as an important piece, will, along with Quang Ninh Port, Quang Tri Airport, Vietnam SuperPort – the smart logistics "super port" in Vinh Phuc, Nam Phuc Tho Industrial Cluster, the aviation industry - logistics - service - trade - airport urban complex in Quang Tri, and other infrastructure and logistics projects being deployed by T&T Group, contribute to promoting the development of multimodal transport and creating new breakthroughs for Vietnam's logistics industry, as the Vietnamese aviation and logistics market enters a strong growth phase.
In the context of the Vietnamese aviation market still facing challenges related to planning, infrastructure, and development capacity, the fact that a young private airline like Vietravel Airlines now owns its aircraft, increases capital, and integrates into an international-level logistics-aviation value chain is considered a remarkable milestone. This not only demonstrates the strong development of Vietnamese private enterprises but also affirms the central role, agency, resources, impetus, strategic autonomy, and systematic investment capabilities in high technology and modern operating models of the private economic sector – in line with the spirit of Resolution 57 of the Politburo, which emphasizes breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.
Simultaneously, the development of Vietravel Airlines is a clear example of the pioneering role, creative capacity, and aspiration to reach new heights of the private economic sector in key areas – concretizing the direction set forth by Resolution 68 of the Politburo on private economic development: to develop the private economy into one of the most important driving forces of the national economy, actively participate in global value chains, and compete internationally.
"From the milestone of owning its first aircraft, Vietravel Airlines is gradually realizing its 'fly far – fly long – fly sustainably' strategy, opening a new chapter for the airline and contributing to the development of Vietnam's aviation industry in a new era of national resurgence," affirmed Mr. Do Vinh Quang.
