1. Checked baggage

Checked Baggage is the baggage that the Carrier is responsible for transporting from the point of departure to the arrival destination indicated in the booking or ticket number;

Checked baggage is understood as normal item for a passenger's trip; Therefore, do not put money, valuables (jewelry, camcorders, personal computers, mobile phones), important documents, and lithium batteries in your checked baggage.

• Checked baggage allowance IS NOT INCLUDED in the Vietravel Airlines ticket fare.
• Passengers can buy the Checked baggage allowance depending on their requirements.
• Checked baggage allowance will be bought prior to or at the same time you take the check-in procedure. This Checked baggage service will be set in a bundle of block baggage, not by kilogram individually.
• Weight and dimension standard of the Checked baggage:
• Weight: Checked baggage allowance is determined by the baggage purchased. Passengers may purchase additional allowance in increments of 15kg, 23kg, and 32kg per piece. The maximum weight per piece of checked baggage is 32kg (70lbs).
• Pieces: Each purchased baggage allowance corresponds to one piece of baggage. Additional pieces may be purchased for a fee. The maximum allowance is 3 pieces per passenger, per segment, with a total weight limit of 70kg.
• Size: The total linear dimensions (length + width + height) of each piece of checked baggage must not exceed 158cm (62 inches). Oversized baggage with dimensions between 158cm (62 inch) and 250cm (98.4 inches) will incur an additional oversized baggage fee.
• Excess Limits: Baggage exceeding the allowed weight or size, or piece limits will only be transported with prior notification and approval (fees applied).
• Packing: Passengers must ensure that all checked baggage is properly packed in accordance with the regulations on size, weight and comply with the principles of flight’s security and safety before checking.
• The special discounted price when buying Check-in baggage allowance 03 hours before domestic departure time and 04 hours before international departure time. The maximum checked baggage allowance with a special price is 70kgs/passenger.
• PETC is not allowed to carriage on Vietravel Flights.

Regulations on checked baggage

The amount of checked baggage depends on the baggage allowance that passenger bought Passengers can buy standard combo of checked baggage by these following methods:

Buy on website: vietravelairlines.vn

Buy via Vietravel Airlines' Customer Care Center: 19006686.

Buy at Vietravel Airlines’ ticket office/agents and at the airport.

You can buy or upgrade the weight of checked baggage in allowance of: 15kgs/Piece, 23kgs/Piece và 32kgs/Piece with conditions.

In case the checked baggage exceeds the weight and/or size standards, an oversized service fee will be charged.

In case the luggage exceeds the specified weight and size, the passenger must notify us in advance for transportation instructions and charge if necessary.

DO NOT put in checked baggage: Valuables, money, phones, tablets, backup charger (lithium batteries)…

General conditions for checked baggage

Vietravel Airlines reserves the right to refuse carriage of the following items in checked baggage:

Items packed improperly, not eligible for transport.

Items that do not comply with the flight’s security and safety mentioned in the Dangerous goods Regulations of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), International Air Transport Association (IATA), Terms & conditions of Carriage and Contract terms.

Items prohibited by Laws or by Countries of departure/arrival or transit;

Items that are not suitable for transportation due to weight, size, shape or characteristic;

Fragile or perishable items;

Alive or dead animals;

Fresh/frozen seafood or meats must be packaged in styrofoam box and/or refrigerated containers. These items may be accepted after inspection by the Authorized Organization.

Potted  plants are not accepted as checked baggage and carry-on baggage.

We reserve the right to refuse carriage of your baggage if the passenger refuses to be checked upon request.

Warnings:

• Make sure baggage is fully and properly packed to avoid breakability in flight.
• For FRESH, PERISHABLE AND FROZEN GOODS:
• The use of crushed ice/wet ice is not allowed.
• Inner packing: must be wrapped in a plastic bag with a minimum thickness of 0.1 mm and wrapped in more layers of plastic outside to avoid any unexpected leakages. 
• Outer packing: inner packing addition, these kinds of baggage must be placed in a foam or plastic box/container with a waterproof material covered with a lid and seal carefully to prevent leakage or spillage during stacking and transportation. Each such foam/plastic box/container with waterproof material must be wrapped in nylon with a thickness of at least 1mm

For ALCOHOL

Refer to Appendix II, List of dangerous goods restricted to carry on board, issued together with Decision No. 1541/QD-CHK dated September 14, 2021 of the Director of the Civil Aviation Administration Vietnam: 

• The maximum capacity of the tank is not more than 1L
• Only accepted in the original manufacturer's bottle/container and must not be opened so that the concentration of the alcoholic beverage can be verified.

For FISH SAUCE AND OTHER LIQUIDS

• Contained in plastic bottles or jars.
• The amount of liquid  is not exceeded 95% volume of the bottle/jars.
• Each tank must be tightly closed and wrapped with individual layers of tape.
• Maximum acceptance: three (03) liters/passenger

For FRAGILE ITEMS should not be carried in checked baggage. We are not responsible for baggage damage due to normal wear and tear, which includes:

• Cuts, scratches, scuffs, dents and marks;
• Damage to or loss of protruding parts, including straps, pockets, pull handles, hanger hooks, wheels, external locks, security straps, or zipper tabs;
• Improper or over-packing baggage;
• Baggage accepted under the conditions of the Limited Release Tag - including items retrieved or confiscated by Airport Authorities or Security Requirements.
• Below kinds of baggage are very easy to be damaged during loading and transporting as checked baggage because of their thin and brittle plastic material. Carry-on baggage solution is advised to ensure your belongings safety.

• These kinds of baggage must be checked-in when your carry-on baggage is over the
• If these kind of suitcases are checked in:
• A nylon-wrapping action should be considered to reinforce the safety of this kind of baggage before check-in.
• Fragile tag will be put on the baggage so it will be attentive during the service. This kind of baggage considered fragile and passengers are requested to sign a responsibility waiver for the carrier when check-in the baggage (Compensation is not implemented for this kind of baggage with any natural damages).

2. Carry-on baggage is baggage that passengers are responsible for preserving during the flight

• Carry-on baggage allowance is included in the Vietravel Airlines ticket.
• To ensure the safety and comfort of passengers, Vietravel Airlines regulates the weight and size of hand luggage as follows: 1 piece/7 kg/ passenger with dimension 56 x 36 x 23cm (≤115 cm). This standard is not applied to Infant passenger.

• In case the carry-on baggage exceeds the regulated quantity above, weight and size, the baggage will be required to be checked in and the passenger will pay a service fee for the additional checked baggage.
• Infants (Children under 2 years old) are not eligible for carry-on baggage allowance
• Passengers who wish to bring dry ice in hand luggage are kindly requested to inform our staff. The maximum acceptable volume of dry ice is 2.5kg/person and the dry ice must be packaged in the way that air can come out during transport.
• This baggage will be checked then tagged “Cabin Baggage” at the check-in counter and will be checked again at the departure gate.

Hand baggage is not allowed to contain:

Fresh and frozen food (meat, fish, crab, snail...);

Fruits (jackfruit, durian...) and liquids (fish sauce, shrimp paste, shrimp paste...) cause unpleasant odors

Items that violate safety and security principles

Regulations on carrying liquids in hand luggage for INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS:

1. Total allowable volume is not more than 1,000ml/pax.
2. Each liquid container has a maximum volume of 100ml and must be placed in a clear, re-sealable plastic bag.

The weight of Special baggage is included in checked baggage allowance which is paid by passenger if its maximum weight ≤32kg/piece and 03 dimensions ≤203cm.

1. Bulk baggage

• The baggage that weight exceeds 32kg/piece and/or has 03 dimensions varying from 203cm to ≤250cm is considered Bulk baggage. A Bulk baggage extra fee will be applied and is not included in the checked baggage allowance paid by passengers.
• Bulk baggage fees apply to each piece of oversized baggage. The payment of the Bulk baggage fee does not increase the allowed baggage alowwance.
• Bulk baggage weight is included in the total allowed weight
• Each passenger is allowed to pre-purchase up to 02 pieces of Bulk luggage.
• Information of oversize baggage must be noticed us prior the day of the departure.

2. Golf set

Golf Baggage/Golf Equipment includes: 01 set of golf equipment with a total weight not exceeding 23 kg, a maximum of 14 golf clubs, 12 golf balls, 01 pair of golf shoes, and golf tees. Other items not listed above are not included in the golf equipment set.

• Golf Baggage is sold at two times: Pre-purchase and purchase at the airport according to Vietravel Airlines' current regulations. (Before 3 hours for domestic flights and 4 hours for international flights).
• After checking in Golf Baggage, if the weight allowance is remaining, passengers CANNOT use the remaining allowance to check in other regular baggage.
• Passengers who have purchased the Golf service but do not bring golf equipment can transfer it to regular checked baggage but will NOT be refunded the difference in price compared to the regular checked baggage fee. (Must comply with standard regular checked baggage regulations).
• Passengers who have purchased regular checked baggage CANNOT transfer it to the Golf service. Passengers must purchase the Golf service at the current price and NO refund will be applied for the purchased checked baggage.

3. Bicycle

Bicycle that weight exceeds 32kg/piece and/or has 03 dimensions varying from 203cm to ≤250cm is considered Bulk baggage with the Bulk baggage extra fee will be applied and is not included in the checked baggage allowance paid by passengers. Bicycle weight is included in the total checked baggage allowance as paid

Upon checking in a Bicycle/Bulk, please pack it in a neat box without sharp corners; ensure that type: 

• The handlebar of the bicycle is rotated and stabilized to the length of the bike;
• Dissemble and pack bulky parts such as pedals, saddles, lights, mirrors, etc…;
• Tires are deflated before packing and checking-in;

Bicyle transportation service must be reserved at least 24 hours prior to the departure

5. Wheelchair

• Wheelchair use for passenger with disabilities or difficulty in mobility for any reason.
• Passengers' mobility aids such as wheelchairs, crutches, canes, etc. are allowed to be transported free of charge if necessary for passenger's assistance.
• A wheelchair is not satisfied the above regulations will be counted as checked baggage.
• Passengers using wheelchairs with non-removable battery please contact with our Call Center 19006686 for further guidance.

7. Transportation of Peach/Apricot/Flower Branches via Checked Baggage

• Applicable to: Passengers traveling on domestic flights of Vietravel Airlines who need to transport Apricot Blossom/ Peach Blossom/ Flowerbranches as checked baggage. Note: Applicable to domestic flights.
• Passengers need to register for apricot/peach/flower transportation service at least 1 hours before the departure time to be given priority for transportation. Passengers are allowed to purchase the service directly at Web Check-on or at the airport, depending on the actual situation of the airline at the time of check-in.
• Conditions for transporting peach/plum/flower branches as checked baggage:
  • Size: 150 x 40 x 40 cm;
  • Weight: 23kg/bunch/maximum 2 branches;
  • For packages of Apricot Blossom/ Peach Blossom/ Flower branches exceeding 1 bunch or exceeding the weight of 23kg/package, passengers must purchase an additional standard package of peach/apricot branches (1 bunch) at the airport, depending on the actual operating situation of the airline at the time of check-in.
  • Packing specifications: The outer branches and leaves must be tightly wrapped in nylon, paper bags, PE bags, etc.
  • Do not accept the transportation of Apricot Blossom/ Peach Blossom/ Flowerbranches exceeding the specified size and weight.
  • Do not accept the transportation of Apricot Blossom/ Peach Blossom/ Flower branches or potted or soil-covered bonsai as checked baggage or carry-on baggage.
  • Passengers must sign a Waiver of responsibility document (for fragile or perishable baggage) for the carrier.
• Regulations on service use and conversion
  • After checking in apricot/apricot/flower branches, if the standard weight of the baggage is still available, passengers MAY NOT use the remaining standard to check in other regular baggage.
  • Passengers who have purchased the Apricot Blossom/ Peach Blossom/ Flower branch transportation service, but do not actually carry the Apricot Blossom/ Peach Blossom/ Flower branch, and want to convert it into regular checked baggage, will be accepted. However, the difference in fee compared to the regular checked baggage price will not be refunded. (Ensure the regular HLKG standard and the applicable checked baggage allowance is 23kg/piece)
  • Passengers who have purchased regular checked baggage will NOT be accepted to switch to the Apricot Blossom/ Peach Blossom/ Flower branch transportation service. Passengers will have to purchase the service according to the price at the time and NO refund will be applied for the purchased checked baggage.

Note: Transportation of Peach/Apricot/Flower Branches via Checked Baggage is applied according to the carrier's implementation during each Tet holiday.

Resticted and prohibited baggage icludes restricted and prohibited items that are not accepted as baggage or inclued in baggage.

Vietravel Airlines reserves the right to refuse to carriage items (in carry-on and checked baggage) as follows:

• Items capable of causing unsafety or/and not security to the flight according to The dangerous goods regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the Conditions of Carriage of our contract.
• Items capable of causing unsafety or/and not security to the aircraft, passengers, and properties on the flight; explosives, air tank, corrosives, oxidizers, radioactive materials, magnetic materials, flammable substances, toxic substances, bleacher.
• Items that are prohibited in accordance with applicable laws, regulations or orders of  any states or country of destination, departure or transit point;
• Items that, in Vietravel Airlines point of view, are not suitable for carriage due to their weight safe, size or nature;
• Live animal; weapons and firearms.

List of prohibited items not allowed on Vietravel Airlines’ flight:

Firearms and lookalike items	All types of firearms, Part of firearms, Ammunition, Stun guns, Imitation Firearms, Toy guns, etc.

List of restricted items and/or counted in checked baggage only:

According to the Law, Vietravel Airlines reserves the right to request for security scanning of passenger and their belongings to ensure passengers and flight safety.

Vietravel Airlines has the right to take any action that we perceive reasonable, including the confiscation of such items at the request of the Airport Authority after making on-site minutes. We will not be liable for any loss or damage to any prohibited items if they are carried on board despite the prohibition.

Vietravel Airlines always strives to transport passengers' luggage to the destinations safely and quickly. We sincerely apologize for any late arrival/damage/loss of baggage at the destination, we will endeavor to resolve any related irregularities.

The compensation liability for checked baggage will be based on Vietravel Airlines' Terms & Conditions of Carriage.

Passengers should contact Lost & Found Counter at the arrival airport for instructions.

Passengers need to provide information of irregular baggage to ground handling staff (baggage identification number, baggage description, …).

Passengers must immediately notify us of any abnormalities in your luggage (loss, damage, delayed baggage) at the baggage claim location so that Vietravel Airlines can make an irregular report.

In cases of irregular baggage such as damage, pilferage, weight discrepancies or delayed/missing items reported at the arrival airport, Vietravel Airlines will report the matter to Airport Police for investigation, clarification, and resolution in accordance with applicable laws.

1. Delayed baggage

If your checked baggage cannot be found on arrival, Please follow the simple steps below to file a report. 

• Lodge a report: A delayed baggage report can be lodged at the Lost & Found Office at the arrival airport. DO NOT FORGET to inform us about your return/onward route, your contact number (telephone and email) and the detailed contents of your baggage in your declared baggage report. Ensure that you receive a copy of the report when the declaration is completed.
• Recognize your delayed baggage reference number: You will receive a File Reference Number on the report for future correspondence regarding your case.
• Get status updates: We will send daily updated information via email in the first week. Alternatively, you can contact the Lost and Found section telephone/email shown on the baggage report for your baggage information.

2. Damaged baggage

If your checked baggage arrived damaged, immediately make a report at the airport.
If you only discovered your baggage was damaged after leaving the airport, please contact the Lost & Found Office at the arrival airport to lodge a report within 7 days of your flight’s arrival.
Please note that our liability for damaged baggage is based on our Conditions of Carriage and/or the Warsaw or Montreal Conventions, unless a higher value has been declared in advance, our liability remains limited. 

Suppose you’ve purchased a travel insurance policy to cover your recent travel, in that case, you can consider claiming your travel insurance policy, which may provide you with more comprehensive insurance coverage.

The time limit for complaints about irregular baggage is as follows:

For baggage that is delayed in transportation: passenger must send us a complaint letter within 21 days (according to the postmark) from the date of baggage receipt.

For damaged luggage (or content loss): The time limit for passengers to send a complaint letter to Vietravel Airlines for compensation is 07 days (according to the postmark) from the date of baggage receipt.

For losing one or more pieces of baggage: The time limit for passengers to send a complaint letter is within 07 days (according to the postmark) from the date of flight arrival.
